Building Reliability Through Integrated Condition Monitoring

Industrial failures rarely happen instantly.
Most failures begin from small warning signs that are often overlooked.

On 20 May 2026, Akhmad Reza Fadillah, ICML MLA II, Founder & Chief Technical Advisor of PT Valtrust TriboDynamics Indonesia, had the opportunity to participate as one of the speakers at Lube Indonesia 2026 organized by MASPI (Masyarakat Pelumas Indonesia).

In this session, Reza delivered a presentation titled:

“Integration of Condition Monitoring for Fault Detection and Root Cause Analysis”

The discussion highlighted how many industrial failures actually start from:
• Microscopic wear
• Slight contamination
• Minor vibration
• Small temperature increase

Unfortunately, many organizations still interpret condition monitoring data separately, causing the true root cause to remain undetected.

The presentation emphasized the importance of integrating:
• Oil Analysis
• Vibration Analysis
• Thermography

to improve fault detection capability and strengthen root cause investigation.

Several real industrial case studies were also shared during the session, including:
• Hydraulic pump failures caused by airborne contamination entering through damaged breathers
• Gearbox failures triggered by overlooked abnormal vibration after maintenance
• Food-grade gearbox reliability issues solved through integrated condition monitoring without shutdown, saving company in unnecessary oil replacement costs

One important message from the session:

“The future of reliability is no longer isolated monitoring. It is integrated intelligence.”

At PT Valtrust TriboDynamics Indonesia, we believe machinery reliability is not only about maintenance activities.
It is about understanding machine behavior, identifying early warning signs, and connecting data into actionable engineering decisions.

Valtrust focuses on:
• Lubrication Training
• Used Oil Analysis
• Root Cause Failure Investigation
• Reliability Improvement Programs

We are committed to helping industries reduce recurring failures, improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance performance, and strengthen technical capability across operations.

Thank you to MASPI (Masyarakat Pelumas Indonesia) and Lube Indonesia 2026 for the opportunity, discussion, and collaboration with fellow professionals in the lubrication and reliability industry.
